Vanilla Lips Lover

Mmm, who doesn't love the scent of tasty vanilla? Well, it seems that vanilla has become a popular flavor for lip balms and shimmery clear glosses for girls my age. However, the indulgent aroma isn't all it takes to make a  balm or gloss worth it!

Sorry if my swatches below are impossible to see! Anyway, here we have my Whipped Vanilla Lip Shine (I bought it with a bath and body gift set at Walmart, so technically it's not branded) and my Bonne Bell Vanilla Lip Smackers lip balm. Both are very lustrous and moisturizing, and it seems as if you can't apply enough of them. They both have a similar vanilla smell that's absolutely heavenly...I can't find anything bad to say about them!

Today's Mood Booster: Super Soccer Happy Dance

Oh my gosh, take a look at this HILARIOUS pic of my bro happy dancing after his team won an indoor soccer game last night!
Ha ha, check out my moves!

Gossip Star Bright Polish in Sparkle

Okay, most of you are probably newbies to Gossip. It's a division of Smart Brands, along with Fab, and sells beauty stuff like nail polish and lip gloss for younger girls, sometimes even my age. Fab is another Smart Brands-owned thing, and it sells things for preteen girls like me, but its only difference from Gossip is that it also sells more things like body glitter and eye palettes. But they're both the same in many ways...their too-sweet flavored lip glosses, their loosely packed eyeshadows, and of course their cheap nail polishes like this one. Really, I'm only reviewing it so I can say goodbye and good riddance!

Alright, so I admit that the star-shaped bottle is kind of cute and it does look like a pretty color, but in reality, it looks like just the tiniest tint. There are some stick-on glitters in the package with the nail polish, which I actually might of kept if they didn't slide off so easily.  The polish has a watery consistency, a tiny brush hidden inside the flimsy plastic cap (urgh) and absolutely unacceptable results. After gunking on around six layers, it finally showed up...barely. See what I mean in the swatch below? Please excuse my tiny nails...bad biting habit. Sorry, Gossip, but you guys could do a bit better. Who knows, maybe I'll be more positive next time?

Vaseline Original Lip Therapy

Hey guys! Here's a quick review of a new lip balm borrowed from my mom...hope you enjoy!

Although it has no scent, Vaseline Original Lip Therapy is nonetheless a terrifically moisturizing, softening balm. It is somewhat creamy although stiff enough to spread evenly, and it makes my lips feel the BEST ever!!! Love the instant smoothing power! Plus, isn't that little tub so cute? P.S. The swatch below is not to show color, but to define the texture. Below that is the open tub from above.

Wet 'n Wild MegaLength Mascara

I haven't blogged much about eyes yet, so I'm hoping to get in the rhythm of doing posts like that in the future! Here we go with one of my favorite mascaras, which is by Wet 'n Wild and by far more than satisfactory.

Oh, how I love this mascara! I like it because it makes my lashes lengthy and voluminous in a single sweep. The brush applicator is a very nice one and delivers an even amount of mascara, although once in a while it clumps just a bit. The navy tube is gorgeous, and I thought I would include a photo of the results below the swatch...

OK, How Far Behind on my Daily Moodboosters?

UGHH! I have been so busy beauty blogging that I've hardly had time for my daily moodboosters! Oops! Well, anyway, here's a quick one for you to enjoy...
Stylin', I am!

Mark. All the Highlights Soft Glow Illuminator in Magalog 2

Okay, I admit I could have come up with a way better name for this post, but it is what it is! Anyway, I have my fingers crossed for this Mark.  bronzing/blusher palette called All the Highlights. I first caught sight of it in the magalog (a Mark. catalog) and fell in love.

Since right now the palette is in the catalog, there's really no way for me to swatch or review it. Please excuse the writing around it...this is a picture of it in the catalog! I bet it's one of those Juice Gem kind of things...(click here to see a specific review of the Lemon Sugar flavor) sweet and sassy with great sparkle and meanwhile satisfactory results. The blossom prints on the background of natural skin-toned powder stripes is really cute if you can see it, and look at that bold fuchsia butterfly ready to take off and get glowing! Yeah...another one of my terrible jokes. Look's like it's supposed to turn out on skin as on the model below. Can't WAIT to get this!

CoverGirl Lipslicks in Sandstone

Hmm, who new that if I was never a fan of neutrals, I would like this? Ha ha! The answer to that question is because of the glamorous shimmer!

Although this didn't make it to be one of my Best Balms of Forever, I still use it once in a while as a glitzy everyday lip tint. It smells expired somehow (typical CoverGirl-don't worry, you'll get used to it once you try it!) but I love the marbled look with just a bit of glimmering in the natural light. It is shaped like a lipstick-balm hybrid, with the top not as slanted as an ordinary lipstick and therefore a somewhat balm. The color looks pigmented yet it is actually quite sheer once applied. Not much of a moisturizing effect, but it does make my lips appear slightly smoother.

Best Balms of FOREVER

Hey guys! I just got up and spent 20 minutes looking for my Yes to Carrots lip balm before I could do this post...it turned out to be under the pile of pillows on my bed. :D Haha!  Well, anyway, I thought you might enjoy hearing about a few lip balms I think TOTALLY outdo the rest. Here they are...

From left to right: my (very battered, much used) Jordana EasyShine Glossy Lip Color in Raspberry, my Yes to Carrots C Me Smile Lip Butter, my True Shimmer Botanical Berry Chapstick, and my Nivea Kiss of Flavor Passion Fruit Tinted Lip Care.
The Jordana balm: Shiny, sweet-scented, and a blissful pink color. Smears easily in the tube, though.
The Yes to Carrots balm: Although it doesn't seem much like a lip butter, it still has a slight scent I love, and it is probably the ultimate softening, smoothing lip balm ever.
The True Shimmer balm: Again another lovely aroma, this time packaged with gorgeous shimmer in one moisturizing stick.
The Nivea balm: Expensive and chunky, but contains a pretty tint and some nice moisture.
P.S. Swatched below are the Jordana Balm and the Nivea one, since only those would show up on my skin.

Avon Foot Works Stuff!

First, sorry for not posting for a while! I'm kinda behind, so I guess I should start now? Anyway, I'm just gonna review a couple (two) foot products from Avon. Enjoy!

Here they are, Avon Foot Works Cherry Ice Exfoliating Scrub and Avon Foot Works Anti-Rub Blister Stick. Below is a sample of the scrub, which was taken in maple-y lighting so it looks pink although it is really bright red. The scrub smells heavenly, like a cooling cherry sensation, and does a great job of exfoliating yet it is a tad sticky. The blister stick has no scent (boo-I thought it would have a nice fresh aroma!) but otherwise really helps to prevent blistering friction. I would really recommend this to blister-prone athletes. On both of the containers is the trademark foot seal...just a footnote! Ha ha! No, actually, that was a terrible joke. Bye for now!

Liplicious Deep Aqua Lip Gloss!

I haven't posted in two days, so I suppose I should do one now...based on one of my new top ten lip glosses. Yep, it's Liplicious Tasty Lip Color in flavor Deep Aqua! Actually, LOL...they just changed the name to Tasty Lip Gloss! Oh well, on with the review!

It looks like a pretty bluish-green in the tube and my swatch, but is truly just a clear gloss with a delicious scent. The actual aroma I can't seem to figure out, but it smells something like marine fruit. Love this gloss!

Happy Birthday, BFF!

Hello, guys! I have to go soon, but before I do, I just want to celebrate one person's special day...

MY BEST FRIEND'S!!!

Happy b-day, L! Well, actually, her birthday is the 17th, but that's only TOMORROW!!!

The Beatles: A Link to the Website

Hi! Since I am running low on time, I am just going to post this link and go...it's to the Beatles site!

Best Books I Read in 2011

Okay, so that was a lame title. I was going to call it "Best Books of 2011" but I didn't want readers thinking those books had been published in 2011. Because none were. And okay, I'll only be sharing two books with you today...also lame not too exciting ( I don't want to use the same word twice). Here we go with an AWESOME two books and two AWESOME reviews to go with! P.S. I am pretty much a tween still, so these books may be a tad young for some of you...but you'll still probably want to read them anyway!

First up, The Mummy, the Will, and the Crypt  by John Bellairs. I did not take this pic but I saved it into my own file to use it without an image location.  But on with the review! Okay, the bottom line is that this is what I call an RSB, a.k.a. Really Scary Book. It is full of spine-chilling action and mystery that will make you unable to put it down...or sleep for the next 25 nights at least. I will give you a passage for an idea of what's inside...

Suddenly, a silvery voice began to sing, " A tisket,  a tasket, a will in a wicker basket. I found it, I found it, I green-and-yellow found it."

But that's the only one I could remember exactly, since I am only typing this by memory , which I believe is accurate to the actual work. Basically, it's about a boy named Johnny looking for a mysterious will left behind by a millionaire, and facing all sorts of strange terrors along the way.

And then we have the Sisters Grimm, book one. Again, I did not originally own this image, but I saved it into my own computer file. I haven't gotten past two thirds yet, but here's the blurb...

For Sabrina and Daphne Grimm, life hasn't been a fairy tale. After the mysterious disappearance of their parents, the sisters are sent to live with their grandmother- a woman they believed was dead! Granny Relda reveals that the girls have famous ancestors, the Brothers Grimm, whose classic book of fairy tales is actually a collection of case files of magical mischief. Now the girls must take on the family responsibility of being fairy tale detectives. Their first case? A roller-coaster ride of an adventure to stop a giant from destroying their new hometown.

Hooked? You'll want to try this out!

Rimmel Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadow in Fever

Today I dug up a never-before-used eye trio from Rimmel in my stash. I don't have many Rimmel products...so this is kind of rare for me. But anyway, these are some nice shadows worth sharing...
I like the purple shade grouping, and this is one of the few powdery textures good enough for me to almost love. They don't show up too well in my swatch, though. Like the compact!

L'oreal StudioLine Crystal Wax for hair

This L'oreal product is quite unique, I have to say, since I've never seen anything like it. It is an pearly, opalescent purple-blue formula that feels like a mix of regular Vaseline and creamy lip balm. It does give nice definition and shine once applied, which is nice, but I'm not so sure of how much it takes care of split ends.

The product in its jar open...below is the texture up close...and last of all, the packaged product.

Victoria's Secret ALOHA PINK Tropical & Juicy All-Over Body Mist

Although I don't love Victoria's Secret, their PINK goodies aren't so bad, since they come in pretty containers and smell yummy. Here is one of their items I have, which is named in the title, that I use often...it has the scent of pure tropical bliss, with a cute bottle background and a unique square top. Take a look and leave a comment: what's your favorite VS fragrance?

My "Irresistibles" Lineup...January Edition!

From now on, I am going to be doing irresistibles posts every month, just too keep track of how my interests come and go. So enjoy my January edition!

Here we have a scented candle from BBW, my Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush, my NYC Lip Slider in Sugar Fairy, my Zoe & Zac mineral powder, a sheet of Japanese water Chopstixers stickers, and of course my origami Star Wars friends. Take a look and leave a comment to tell what you like best from this group!!!

How to Make an Origami Bird in 30 Seconds or Less

Since I am running low on origami-based posts, I am going to give you guys instructions for folding a simple origami bird out of a regular-sized sticky note in no time flat. Enjoy it!

To start, fold your sticky note in half twice. Now just fold down half on each side to create flaps for wings. To make your bird appear to fly, take the bottom and push it open and closed. Ta-da...make as many as you want for a whole flock! If you don't understand one of the directions, post a comment and I'll get back to you!

Jane Liquid Lip Colors

Jane, a rarely-selling beauty brand, has created a nice treat for all lip gloss lovers...their glimmering, pigmented Liquid Lip Colors. With glamorous shades and intense shine, these would make an awesome addition to anyone's collection...but they're really hard to find. Oh well. Check it out!

Look at those lovely shades! That shimmer, that shine! Oh, these glosses are a must...but let's get to the actual, uh, post! Just so you know, from left to right in both pics are shades Honey, Touchy, Champagne, Lilac, and Tangerine (click here for a specific review of this shade). Now for the review...they are nice and shiny, with really intense colors and smooth results. They are easy to apply, with gorgeous packaging and no stickiness.

Bonne Bell Sunblush Bronze and Avon Shimmer Swirls Face Illuminator

Okay, creams and bronzers are two things I strangely like, so things like these can turn out to be a dream for me. Anyway, enjoy!

The Avon Face Illuminator in Silver Swirls: Fluffy liquid-cream feel, almost no shimmer and a bare tint that matches my light skin tone. Like this as a sort of foundation.

The Bonne Bell Sunblush Bronze in Natural Tan: Creamy but cold, with a little too much shimmer somehow and drugstore-cheap packaging. This could be a nice body bronzer.

Nailed It: Polishes from Sinful Colors, Wet 'n Wild, O.P.I., and Sally Hansen

Here's a nail post for you to enjoy, but before you check it out, know that I have short, nubby nails due to a horrible biting habit, so I can't really swatch the polishes on my nails. Oh well...

My tower of polishes...quite artful, I must say. Below are the Sinful Colors Nail Art polishes (shades Rose in Your Nose, Orange Alert, Morning Breath, Worn Before, and Anxious Azure). Then come the Wet 'n Wild Wild Shine Nail Colors (shades French White Creme, Bijou Blue, Caribbean Frost, Ice Blue Pearl, Rain Check, and Black Creme). After that is the Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pen (shade Turquoise Chrome) and the Nicole by O.P.I. Nic's Sticks Paint & Go Nail Lacquer pens (shades Snow Time to Wait, Rainbow's End, Feeling Girly, Run Don't Walk, and Silver-ella). Last of all, the Sally Hansen Hard as nails Xtreme Wear nail polish in Lime Lights.

Review and results: The nail art polishes have nice thin  brushes and electrifying colors (love) the regular polishes really dazzle (love) the pens have trouble pumping-especially the SH one-but do have OK colors. (both maybe)  The SH regular polish is a nice color, but does have quite some fumes.

Beautifully Bare Lip Glosses

Hey! A few minutes ago, I went in search of some neutral lip glosses and found what I was looking for. Enjoy the reviews and swatch samples!

Sally Hansen 18-Hour Lip Treatment in Nude: Pretty packaging, but smells weird and feels like soap on my lips. Typical for Sally Hansen...iffy products for an iffy  price. Probably not my first choice in lip treatments. It's kind of a slightly deeper-toned, shimmery pinky nude.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Luscious Pink: Good packaging, nice effect, creamy texture and tint. Lower price tag than the SH stuff (whew!) although there is no lettering on it so I had to look it up on eBay to find out what it was! Maybe my second choice in light-colored gloss.

Today's Mood Booster: Happy Feet

Just so you know, I will from now on do a daily post whatsoever featuring a fun photo and an optimistic/funny message or quote. *
Happiness is the only thing that can't be scared
                                                                 away by smelly feet!

*Courtesy to Coo for letting me use his foot in the photo.

L'oreal H.I.P. Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss...My Grand Collection of Five Shades

Hello! Here I am with yet another beauty post, swatching and reviewing my new collection of L'oreal lip glosses. You can tell what they are by the title, so let's get to the good stuff!
Review and results: These colors are shimmery and totally intense, but the dome applicator and tiny hole in it make them difficult to put on. They are actually quite sticky, I must say...these are not my first choice in a lip gloss.
